Crafters wanted for our Fall Show!

Planning is underway for our annual 80-booth St Brendan Craft Show sponsored by our Knights of Columbus on Saturday, November 2. Several booth spots are still available! Vendor application and details can be found by clicking on “Craft Show” down below on this web page, or by contacting Fred Kierner at stbcraftshow@gmail.com

Altar Server Training Classes

ATTENTION ALL NEW JUNIOR SERVERS AND RISING ACOLYTES!

Students going into 3rd or 4th grade (this year) may take the training class to become a Junior Altar Server. Junior Servers will then shadow and learn from the older, more experienced servers. After they learn the responsibilities necessary by participating regularly at Sunday Masses, they will transition over to Acolytes when they graduate the 4th grade. These new/rising Acolytes will also need some additional training. Before attending one of the classes below, Junior Servers must register HERE and Acolytes must register HERE Questions? All new Junior Altar Servers and all rising Acolytes need to register and attend one of these upcoming training classes (held in the Church):

First Option:
Junior Server Training @ 11AM, Saturday, October 12
Acolyte Training @ 12 PM, Saturday, October 12

Second Option:
Junior Server Training @ 1 PM, Sunday, October 20
Acolyte Training @ 2 PM, Sunday, October 20

St Brendan School Student Option:
Junior Server Training @ 2 PM, Thursday, October 17
Acolyte Training @ 2 PM, Wednesday, October 16

Trunk or Treat – Oct 28

This year’s Trunk or Treat will take place on Monday, October 28 from 6-7:30 in the parking lot by the playground! Start thinking about your trunk or costume theme!

Join us 6-7:30 PM for some hotdogs, drinks, treats, fun and prizes! To sign up as a “trunk” to pass out candy, visit https://stbrendan.ccbchurch.com/goto/needs/public

FESTIVAL ADULT GAMES CHAIRPERSON NEEDED

We are looking for an Adult Games Chairperson for this year’s festival. We are also in need of someone to be the head Chairperson to oversee the Festival Committee for next year, 2025. Contact Mike (below) if interested.

DONATE AN EXPERIENCE

Vacation timeshares, tickets to sporting events, or other “experience” types of items are needed for this year’s Festival Silent Auction. OR, if you are in contact with a business that would like to donate items or become a Festival sponsor, contact Mike at festival@stbrendans.net or 614-264-0314

VOLUNTEER or DONATE SWEETS

SILENT AUCTION GIVING TREES

The Giving Tees are available in the church gathering space. Pick a tag (or two!) and return the items to the box by the trees by July 24 so we can create themed baskets to be raffled off at our Festival Silent Auction. BASKET DONATIONS FOR THE SILENT AUCTION

We will be accepting baskets, both new and gently used, for assembling packages for the Festival Silent Auction starting next weekend. Please drop them off in trailer (near Wellnitz Hall) which will be in place July 6 through July 24. Thank you!

Save the date for October 12 for an OSU night game on the big screen and plenty of food trucks and fellowship in our own parking lot!

It’s Bucks v. Ducks when St Brendan School hosts their annual Food Truck Tailgate! Watch it on the Jumbotron in our parking lot October 12 at 6:30 PM (kickoff is 7:30 PM). Enjoy food trucks, fellowship and fun!

SPORTS GEAR COLLECTION DRIVE – St Brendan is partnering with Leveling the Playing Field – OH to run a sports equipment collection drive at the St Brendan Tailgate on Oct 12th during the Ohio State vs Oregon game! We will be helping to collect gently used sports gear for LPF Ohio, a Columbus non-profit that helps kids from under-resourced communities become involved in youth sports through the collection and redistribution of gently used/excess sporting equipment! These donations benefit local schools, youth/after-school programs, rec centers, and other youth serving organizations. Help make a huge impact for kids in our community by bringing in any equipment that’s no longer in use! to view a list of items being collected, click HERE
