Walking with Purpose

The modern woman’s guide to the Bible

Have you ever considered that your day-to-day struggles are, at their core, timeless and universal? Though your challenges are deeply personal, they are also deeply human, and God has provided workable solutions for you through the teachings of Christ and the Roman Catholic Church.

Walking with Purpose would like to help you enjoy a deeper personal relationship with Jesus Christ, nurtured through personal Bible study and small group discussions created just for women.

2020 Program Information

Fearless and Free is an eleven-lesson Bible study based on the book of Ephesians. So many of us are wrestling through the reality that life isn’t easy, even when we are doing the right thing. Suffering can slam into us from left field, leaving us reeling. This study provides a firm foundation to stand on no matter what life throws our way. With an emphasis on healing and wholeness, Fearless and Free is the most personal and transformative study that Walking with Purpose has offered so far.

This is what we’ll discover through the pages of this study

  • We need to WAKEN to the reality of who we are in Christ, and that we have an enemy who seeks to steal our true identity.
  • We need to WRESTLE with the battle in our minds– bringing our thoughts in captivity to Christ.
  • We need to be strengthened as WARRIORS so that we can move forward in life– not just surviving, but flourishing.

Readers will experience being grounded in truth while wrapped in the embrace of the One who loves us all completely and without end.

For our St. Brendan group, we will begin on January 9 and end near the end of April for a total (non-consecutively) of 14 weeks. We have built into the schedule social time off-site, Adoration, and time off for spring break and Holy Week. The full calendar will be available soon.

For questions, please contact one of the coordinators: Jen Gates (evening) –  jjeagates@gmail.com, Kristie Crane (evening) – kkontak@yahoo.com, or Rhonda Hamrock (morning) – hamrockr@gmail.com

Frequently Asked Questions

Both a morning and evening session are available to fit your schedule. WWP is held Thursday mornings from 9:15 to 10:45 AM in Wellnitz Hall, and Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9 PM in the school cafeteria. Also built into the schedule are off-site social nights and Adoration. The 2020 session begins on January 9 for a total of 14 weeks (not consecutive).

Fearless and Free is accessible in terms of Scripture study – even if you have not yet taken the WWP foundation course of Opening Your Heart. The difference lies in the more personal, emotional nature of the content. Because we are focusing on our identity that has been with us from the beginning, it is very likely that old wounds may surface and more grace and support will be needed to process and to heal. This is nothing to fear! Support is available through the small group, leaders, as well as resources for outside spiritual direction and counseling. We invite participants to walk at her own pace, going as deeply as is possible in this season, trusting in God’s timing and purpose for their growth.

For further help in discerning or questions about the course itself, please contact jrice@stbrendans.net.

Fearless and Free should be purchased through the WWP online store here

The cost is $30 plus shipping. Should you need assistance purchasing your book, please contact Jen Rice at jrice@stbrendans.net.

We prefer to say, how are small groups discerned! A great deal of thought and prayer go into the discernment of small groups or tables. We try to balance ages, marital status and other qualities to create a diverse group. Ultimately, though, the Holy Spirit takes charge of these tables and, in His usual fashion, can surprise us in the results. The goal is to gift another woman whom you may not have previously met with your presence and vice versa.
