Smoke-Free Campus

Effective Earth day, April 22, 2016, St Brendan will become a smoke-free campus.  This is a change that many parishioners and employees have asked for and feel is long overdue.

So, beginning on Earth Day we will prohibit smoking, the use of all tobacco products, and the use of electronic smoking devices (also known as electronic cigarettes or “e-cigarettes”) at St Brendan the Navigator parish and this includes all church and school buildings, anywhere on parish and school grounds, in parish-owned vehicles and in privately-owned vehicles parked on parish property.

The purpose of this policy is to provide a healthy environment that promotes the health, well-being, and safety of everyone.  Furthermore, it is also our intent to reduce any influence tobacco-use behavior may have on our students and young parishioners.

This policy applies to any individual on parish property, including, but not limited to, parishioners, staff, faculty, students, volunteers, visitors attending church events, contractors, subcontractors, and any members of the public, and is applicable twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week.
