ChristLife is a seven-week evangelizing course that creates a welcoming environment where members of our parish can bring anyone and everyone, the baptized and unbaptized, to hear the Good News and personally encounter Jesus Christ. Each session includes a meal, a brief time of worship, a video teaching, and small group discussion. The high point of the course is a day retreat where guests have the opportunity to make a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and be renewed in the Holy Spirit. We believe that this program will serve as both a wide-open door to new believers as well as a rekindling fire for the whole St Brendan community.
All adults 18+ are invited to attend! Those who are minimally involved in our parish are just as welcome as dedicated, registered members. We especially invite those who might not have any affiliation with religion or the Catholic Church. Do you know a fallen away Catholic or someone who’s had a negative experience of religion? We hope you invite that person to join you in participating in this exciting session.
ChristLife is free for all those who wish to participate! However, you must register.
For participants: 7 sessions (one session a week), and a 1-day retreat. The sessions will be on Thursdays from September 5 to October 17, 7 – 9 PM on the St Brendan Campus.
Yes! St Brendan’s will provide free childcare for children ages 6 months to 6 years from 6:45 PM- 9:15 PM each evening of ChristLife.
In order to do this and allow more people to attend as many ChristLife sessions as possible, we need your help! We need 2 adults per night along with 2 teens. This will count for any 8th grade+ service hours for any of our teens who help. If you are interested in volunteering, please check out our available slots.
No worries! We love having you and you will be missed, but we understand that life gets busy. Just try to make it as many as you can. If you already know that you will have to miss a session (or two) please don’t let that prevent you from registering!
It’s always helpful to return what’s most important. We want to go back to the foundation of all that we do as a parish; we want to discover anew the person of Christ so that all our work and ministry will be ever more focused on Him. There exists a need to “re-discover” the Good News of Jesus with new eyes so that it remains fresh and relevant to our daily living. By asking other ministries to pause during the 7 weeks of ChristLife, we hope to maximize the scope of our reach, to reinvigorate all of our ministry leaders, and to centralize all our resources for this great work.
This is yet to be determined. Discovering Christ (the first session of ChristLife) will likely be offered again next Fall. Follow-up sessions will probably be offered in the context of small group settings.
Each night of ChristLife will include a catered meal. This is not a potluck, so you don’t have to worry about bringing anything. Special dietary requests must be mentioned in your registration. This is not a potluck. Sit down, relax, and be our guest!
