Volunteer Information and Forms
Faith
Formation Catechists, Aides and Volunteers:
The Faith Formation Department could not function
without the hard work and dedication of the many
volunteers whose job titles are listed below:
Catechists
and Aides: All catechists (teachers) and aides in the
classroom are volunteers. Presently, catechists receive
a 100% reduction and aides in the classrooms receive a
50% reduction in tuition fee by their volunteer efforts.
Being a catechist or an aide is an awesome
responsibility. It involves praying, planning and
preparation. In order to best fulfill this
responsibility, we need to educate and re-educate
ourselves in who we are as catechists, in Scripture, in
understanding Jesus and the Church, in Liturgy and
Sacraments, and in the "ever popular" topic:
morality.
In
offering a full tuition fee discount for full time
catechists, and a 50% deduction for all aides, the
expectation is that you will participate in
certification classes that we offer here at St. Brendan
Parish. Renewing our understanding of the Traditions,
practices and Doctrines of our faith is a gift you give
yourself as you further develop your own faith life.
Volunteers
(Monday evenings only): In addition to full-time
catechists and aides, the department needs volunteer
help in other capacities such as door monitors, office
workers, providing child care during class time for
catechists and aides, and with "at home"
projects. Presently, you receive a 10% reduction in your
tuition fee for your volunteer service.
All
Catechists & Volunteers
need to attend and do the following at least two weeks
BEFORE working with our children:
Protecting
God's Children Seminar: Protecting God's Children is a
mandated program that empowers us as a community to
protect our children! Protecting God's Children Seminars
are held throughout the Diocese. You will need to
register on-line on the www.virtus.org
website. The instructions can also be accessed through
the link above. Periodically,
our parish offers the PGC Seminar.
Check the bulletin for details.
BCI/Fingerprinting:
Background Checks/fingerprinting locations can be found
at the Attorney General's website through the http://www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/
Services/Business/WebCheck/Webcheck-Community-Listing

that the location mails the results directly to St.
Brendan parish office.
