Church Library

On February 24, 2002, we officially opened the Maroon Media Center. The purpose of the Media Center is to allow different opportunities for people young and old to grow in their faith through books, videos, and tapes. Currently we have over 400 new books and over 200 new videos available. There are books and videos on parenting, scripture, biographies, spirituality, grief and loss, single parenting, and more.

Currently the hours for the Media Center are on Saturdays from 4:00 until after the 5:30 mass and on Sundays after the 7:15 Mass and before and after each of the other Masses. The Media Center is also open on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Additional hours will be added at a later date.

We still are displaying books and videos in the gathering area. On the top shelf on the left hand side you will find the books or videos that are featured each week in the "What's New In The Library" column in the bulletin. On the right hand side you will find materials for children. Any of these items may be checked out of the Media Center. Items that are being returned can be placed in the maroon crate on the bottom shelf of the book cases in the gathering space.

Over the past year I have kept copies of all of the bulletin articles that have been written. They are in a maroon binder in the Media Center. Sometimes you can't remember the name of a particular book or video, but looking back over the articles sometimes reminds you of what you were searching for and sometimes another book may peak your interest.

I hope all of you will have the opportunity to visit the Center over the next few months. There are many wonderful items to be found in it.
