Family Faith Formation Volunteers

The success of our Family Faith Formation program relies on our solid and consistent volunteers, who, through their joy and love of God and His Church, help to communicate the Truth of the Gospel through their teaching and example.

We have three pathways this year for family faith formation. Families in their first year will follow the Seek & Root pathway, which is what all families went through in the 22-23 year. Families preparing a child to receive a sacrament will follow the sacrament preparation pathway. All other families in the program will follow the continued growth pathway. All these pathways need the following roles to be successful:

Lead Catechists will coordinate adults in leading a group of children in songs, games, and sharing short teachings that are prepared for you by our staff. Catechists will lead 8 at-church sessions through the year, once each month.

Aides support the lead catechist in managing the room and leading activities with small groups of elementary-aged kids. Aides will assist at 8 at-church sessions, once each month.

Middle School Small Group Leaders will accompany a group of 6-8 grade children as they mature into their faith. These leaders use discussion guides, video or Bible content, and training from YDisciple. Small group leaders will be present at 10 small groups through the year, usually twice each month.

Family Coaches are present to share their wisdom and accompany 6-8 families. They lead a small group of parents at each family session and are available to help with questions about sharing faith at home and raising kids to be Catholic. Family Coaches are present with their group of parents for 8 parent sessions, once each month.
