Confirmation
Youth
Junior high teens attending the religious
education program or St. Brendan School are prepared during their
seventh and eighth grade year for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
High school teens who need to be prepared for the Sacrament of Confirmation
attend a twelve week course offered during the catechetical year.
In addition to the course work, eighth grade and high school teens
need to fulfill additional requirements. Parents and teens need
to attend one meeting in the fall for catechesis on the Sacrament
of Confirmation. Every teen must attend a Confirmation retreat,
complete 15 service hours, and write a paper describing the impact
of their service on the community and themselves.
Two Solemn
Celebrations of the Sacrament of Confirmation are celebrated each
year during the spring. Candidates and their parents are given the
opportunity to request a specific time and all efforts are made
to accommodate one's preference.
